Austrian election a worrying example of how polarised world politics has become

The Austrian presidential election between Alexander Van der Bellen and Norbert Hofer will take place on 4 December. Should he win, Hofer, from the right-wing Freedom Party of Austria, founded by Nazi sympathisers, would become the first far-right leader of a major European country for decades.
