Finance Minister presents interim budget, politicos call it election oriented

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): After Finance Minister P Chidambaram presented an interim budget, amidst protests over Telangana, political leaders called it ‘election oriented’. TMC leader Saugata Roy said that it is nothing but a vote on account of three months. BJP leader Jaswant Singh said that there is no guarantee if the government will work on it. Further, BSP Chief Mayawati said that there is nothing new in the budget. Meanwhile, BJD leader Jay Panda welcomed the ‘one rank one pension’ clause and said that the budget can’t change the mood of the nation before the general elections. Feb 17, 2014

Opposition walks out of Kashmir assembly over scarcity of subsidized food grains

Jammu, Feb 17 (ANI): Opposition parties in state assembly of Jammu and Kashmir created furore over subsidized food grains on Monday.Opposition parties, including People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Panthers Party (NPP), walked out of the state assembly amid noisy scenes.
