Influx of Pakistani migrants fuels anger in Gilgit

Gilgit, Jan 13: Rising unemployment, poverty and income disparity is fuelling dissatisfaction among the local people in Gilgit Baltistan. It’s the outcome of a large influx of people from Pakistan in line with the country’s deliberate expansionist policy in the region.Islamabad offers several perks to those settling here. Government employees from Pakistan get double salary and incentives to serve in Gilgit, while locals are prevented from getting any employment in the public sector. Sexual harassment: Law intern moves SC against ex-judge Swatanter Kumar

Her petition will be heard by the apex court on Wednesday. Moily says yet to get PM's comments over raising cap on cooking gas

Greater Noida, Jan 13 (ANI): Oil Minister, M. Veerappa Moily, said that he is yet to receive comments from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi, over increasing quota of subsidized cooking gas (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinders from nine to 12 per household in a year.
