To stop live telecast of LS proceedings is murder of democracy: Dinesh Trivedi

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Former Railway Minister and TMC leader Dinesh Trivedi on Tuesday criticized Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar's decision to stop live proceedings from the Lok Sabha. The live telecast of Parliament proceedings was stopped as the Lok Sabha began the process of passing the controversial bill that seeks to create a Telangana state by dividing Andhra Pradesh. Calling the decision a 'murder of democracy', Trivedi said that it was a 'very bad precedent' and was a situation that was worse than democracy. Feb 18, 2014

Telangana Bill passed in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): In an unprecedented measure, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the controversial Telangana Bill with the main opposition BJP giving full support to the Congress in the passage of the bill. The bill was literally passed inside closed doors, as all the entry points were closed after members assembled inside the House at 3 pm. Live telecast of the proceedings on Lok Sabha TV was banned on the orders of Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar. Soon after the House met at 3 pm, Speaker Meira Kumar asked Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde to initiate the debate. Marshals were deployed at all entry gates of Lok Sabha, as it was suspected that suspended MPs of Telugu Desam and other parties may barge in and disturb the proceedings. Feb 18, 2014

Guwahati Schoolboy invents computer system ReVo Book

Guwahati, Feb 18 (ANI): An Indian tenth grade student launched a "ReVo Book" an ultra-slim virus-protected microchip-run computer system, a move that can transform traditional computing devices. Teenaged Afreed Islam from Guwahati's Little Flower School is the new kid on the block, his 'ReVo Book' is embedded with a microchip and a hybrid operating system. The design of the computer system has been developed by a German based firm which took up the project after knowing about Islam's innovation. Italy disappointed over Supreme Court dragging marines case

Security forces seize gold biscuits at India-Bangladesh border

Earlier, the house was adjourned till 12:45 PM, and after getting resumed got adjourned again over the protest.
