India, Pakistan foreign secretaries meet in Islamabad

Hit-and-run case: Salman Khan exempted from submitting driving licence

Mumbai, March 03 (ANI): A sessions court on Tuesday rejected the prosecution plea asking actor Salman Khan to produce driving licence in the infamous hit-and-run case. Earlier, a Regional Transport officer had deposed in court, saying that Khan did not possess a driving licence when his car met with an accident in 2002. Khan is accused of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the hit-and-run case, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.

New Delhi, March 03 (ANI): Reactions pour in on Tuesday as Delhi gang rape convict, Mukesh Singh blamed the victim for the fatal assault on her. In an interview from jail, Mukesh Singh who was sentenced to death on September 2013 has said, "A girl is far more responsible for rape than a boy." He also said that women who went out at night are to blame themselves if they drew attention from molesters or rapists. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia questioned the media on the very necessity or reason of interviewing a convict. BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi said that this clearly shows the mentality of the convict and proves that the decision taken by the court against him was right. Congress leader Shobha Oza said that such people should be given harsh punishments. DCW Chairperson Barkha Shukla said that it is sad and regrettable and that such person should be punished as soon as possible.
