New Delhi, Nov 10 (ANI): Harsh Vardhan who was relieved of the Health Ministry and was allotted Science and Technology and Earth Sciences by Modi government after the Cabinet expansion, took charge of the office on Monday. He said that he was fortunate to get the portfolio being a science professional. Vardhan said that his ministry will try to upgrade science and technology and look to use the same for benefits of people. New Delhi, Nov 10 (ANI): AAP leader MS Dhir on Monday alleged that there is lack of internal democracy in Aam Aadmi Party and refuted news report that he was denied ticket by the party. He said that he never applied of the same and so there is no question of ticket rejection. Dhir went on the appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the country has not seen such a PM in recent years and that Modi is taking the nation in right direction. The bi-annual practice of shifting the 'Darbar' (Secretariat) between the two capital cities of the state dates back to the 19th century. The government operates from Srinagar during summers and from Jammu in winters. It is estimated that the whole exercise of relocating offices costs the government crores of rupees every year. Chandigarh/ Hisar, Nov 10 (ANI): Police and state administration in Punjab beefed up security measures on Monday (November 10) hours before murder-accused Sant Rampal is produced in court for contempt. Rampal faces contempt for skipping judicial proceedings before a sessions court in Hisar last Wednesday (November 05), after which a non-bailable warrant was issued against him and his aide. He had been earlier shifted to Barwala town in the Hisar district but will now be produced in the joint state Punjab and Haryana High Court. The District Collector (DC) of the Chandigarh administration where Rampal is to be produced later on Monday (November 10), Mohammed Shayin, said that security measures had been beefed up judging how last time about 50, 000 of his supporters had collected in protest. New Delhi/ Chennai, Nov 10 (ANI): BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, said on Monday (November 10) that five fishermen sentenced to death in Sri Lanka on the charge of drug trafficking will be transferred to an Indian jail. He said the fishermen, belonging to Tamil Nadu, will be transferred to India as per the agreement between the two countries, signed in year 2010. Five Indian fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy in 2011 on charges of smuggling drugs and on October 30, the Colombo High Court held the five fishermen guilty of drug trafficking.
