Burari Police in Delhi lathicharge AAP workers, files FIR against two MLAs

New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): Police have filed FIR against two AAP MLAs - Sanjiv Jha from Burari and Akhilesh Tripathi from Model Town – for inciting a mob to attack police station in Burari late night. Police resorted to baton charge on AAP workers after supporters of Jha gathered outside the police station. The incident took place at around 11 PM when security guards at the Burari police station stopped Jha's vehicle from entering the premises of police station. According to Jha, some people in Burari molested two kids but the police didn't register any case against the accused. Police has so far arrested seven persons in connection with the case. Several vehicles were damaged in the incident. 17 police personnel were among others who suffered injuries.

Suspected swine flu case reported in JandK

Doda/ Jaipur, Feb 21 (ANI): A suspected case of swine flu has been reported in Jammu and Kashmir. This comes after two people in the state lost their lives on Wednesday (February 18) due to the deadly H1N1 virus. A 13-year-old girl, suspected to be infected with the virus, is undergoing treatment in Doda district of Jammu. To check the spread of swine flu, Mir added, rapid response teams and separate wards for suspected patients were set up in district hospitals. With the number of swine flu cases rising in the state, a government dispensary in Rajasthan is selling herbal medicine, kada, which improves one's immunity to fight the virus.

Bengaluru, Feb 21 (ANI): Aero India 2015, the premiere air show of Asia, hosted a range of defence equipments showcased by firms from world's leading defence suppliers in India's IT hub Bengaluru. The 10th edition of the international event is themed on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Make in India' project in aerospace, defence, civil aviation, airport infrastructure and defence engineering. Indian delegates leave for Pak to bring back 57 boats belonging to Indian Fishermen

Porbandar, Feb 21 (ANI): A team of delegates from the coastal city of Porbandar in Gujarat left for Pakistan to get back 57 boats belonging to Indian fishermen after the country's government decided to release them. Pakistan and India routinely detain boats and fishermen for entering each other's waters for fishing. They mistakenly enter other's waters as there is no demarcation of maritime boundaries. A team member going to Pakistan, Arvind Panjari said that the team was making all efforts to get back the boats as soon as possible. Meanwhile, a boat owner, Anil Motiwars said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled his promise of getting them their livelihoods back. India shares an expansive oceanic border with Pakistan without any perceptible demarcation and fishermen on both sides ignore rules while netting their catch.

Srinagar, Feb 21 (ANI): With winters slowly fading away, houseboat owners in Jammu and Kashmir have begun coring of boats ahead of the tourist season. Houseboats are the identity of the world famous Dal Lake attracting tourists from across the world every year. Houseboat owners have called in carpenters who are specialised in repairing boats by using the 'coring' technique. A houseboat owner Taseen Ahmad said they undertake the coring exercise every two years to keep boats in good shape. The coring experts charge rupees 1,000 a day. Coring of boats includes filling of gaps on the floor of the boat with special grass and repairing the damaged portion with expensive timber of the valley known as "deodar". Meanwhile, tourists have started thronging the valley and staying in houseboats is their preference.

100 Indian women to sky dive in Australia to create record

Mumbai, Feb 21 (ANI): In a bid to empower women, 100 Indian women would visit Australia to do tandem skydiving and scuba diving, also attempting to create a record. The women will visit Gold Coast, Brisbane, Australia from April 16-24 under the guidance of Skydiver Shital Mahajan, who has won Padma Shree, and holds 14 national and eight international records. Addressing mediapersons in Mumbai, Mahajan announced that her skydiving academy will be training 100 women participants to popularise the sport and also for women empowerment. She added that they had finished all the basic camps and would head towards final preparations.
