It was the moment that shocked a nation. 10 years ago today, on 7 July 2005, four Islamist terrorists carrying bombs in each of their rucksacks went on Londons transport network during the morning rush hour. They detonated four bombs on one bus and three underground lines, taking their own lives and that of 52 civilians. More than 700 people were injured in the attack.

It remains the worst terrorist incident since the 1988 Lockerbie aeroplane bombing and the countrys only ever suicide attack. Using archive footage and details of the event, watch IBTimes UKs video report of the deadly 7/7 terror attack.

Services being held

To mark the occasion, prime minister David Cameron and London mayor Boris Johnson will attend a service at the 7/7 memorial in Hyde Park, before a commemoration service is held at St Pauls Cathedral for families of those killed.
