Villagers along Indo-Pak border live under fear as Pak continues fire killing and injuring civilians

Akhnoor/ Flora/ New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged fire in the disputed Kashmir region on Tuesday and four Indian civilians were wounded, a day after the highest civilian death toll in a single day from their cross-border conflict in more than a decade. Director General of paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF), DK Pathak said that Pakistan forces fired at 40 Indian army posts early on Tuesday. The two sides have been trading fire and counter-accusations since the violence erupted last week. Meanwhile, people living along the de-facto border were living in fear due to continuous firing. Pakistan's foreign ministry said it had lodged a protest with Indian diplomats over the killings of its civilians. The ministry said the firing was "in complete disregard" of the Muslim Eid al-Adha festival being celebrated on Monday. Oct 7, 2014

Bangalore, Oct 07 (ANI): Rescue operation is underway to save a nine-year-old girl who was washed away in storm water drain in Bangalore city of Karnataka. The girl, Geethalakshmi, is a native of Tamil Nadu and had come to stay with her grandfather in Bangalore. A local legislator, Satish Reddy, said she had fallen into an open slab while walking with her grandfather during night time.
