New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Reacting on his letter to AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, party MLA Rajesh Garg on Tuesday said that the letter was just to bring out the truth and what was wrong. He said that a meeting with party MLAs suggested that there is no need of another election in the national capital. Garg said that out of 70 MLAs, 67 were not in favour of another election. He also hinted at party's willingness to even give support to Congress is they agree to AAP's conditions. Further, he also expressed confidence in the party and said that party leadership is not upset over the letter. New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Reacting on the ongoing ceasefire violation by Pakistan which is the 17th time this month, Security Experts on Tuesday said that Pakistan Army does not listen to the government and that Indian government needs to take pro-active steps to counter the attempts of Pakistan. Pakistan Rangers targeted 40 border out posts and 25 border hamlets by resorting to heavy mortar shelling and firing along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving many people injured. Security Expert Alok Bansal said that this only shows desperation of Pak Army as they want to infiltrate into Indian borders as soon as possible before snowfall. New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Effectively fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's announcement on consular and visa issues during his address at the Madison Square Garden in New York City last month, all Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards are now valid for the lifetime of the cardholder, instead of 15 years, according to a Gazette notification issued on September 30th, 2014. Following Prime Minister Modi's announcement that PIO cardholders would be exempt from police reporting, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued instructions through the same Gazette notification dated September 30th, that PIO cardholders would not be required to report to a police station even if their visit to India exceeds 180 days. Swiftly implementing all the announcements made by Prime Minister Modi, instructions have been issued to Embassies and Consulates that unless there are exceptional circumstances, visas to US nationals should normally be given for 10 years. Flora, Oct 07 (ANI): Unprovoked firing by Pakistani rangers on Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) left at least one child injured in the Flora village of Jammu and Kashmir. At around 9 PM Monday, border posts of BSF were fired upon by the Rangers, to which the Force retorted. A ten year old boy, Ankush, from Flora village in Arnia sector of Kashmir, sustained injuries while a cow and a goat were killed in the firing. The unprovoked firing has damaged people's houses, forcing the hapless residents to flee their homes and look for safer places. Kathua, Oct 07 (ANI): Angry protesters burnt Pakistan's flag in Jammu and Kashmir to show resentment against ceasefire violation, which killed five civilians and wounded at least 25 on Tuesday. Pakistani forces shelled the village of Arnia about three km (two miles) from the border in the early hours of Monday, killing five and wounding at least two dozen civilians. Meanwhile, a protester in Kathua district, Karan Kumar, said people are living in constant fear due to incessant firing. Meanwhile, another protester, Kuldeep Kumar, called for peace at the border. EC sends notice to Gadkari for alleged violation of model code of conduct

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): The Election Commission has sent a show cause notice to Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for an alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct committed in Maharashtra's Latur District recently. In a statement, the Election Commission said, Gadkari while addressing a public meeting in Latur District on Monday, had allegedly induced voters to accept bribes if offered by someone. The Election Commission said that as per the complaint received from the district election officer of Latur, it found Gadkari's statement to be amounting to abetting and promoting bribery, and deemed it to be violative of the Model Code of Conduct that is in place for the state assembly elections to be held in Maharashtra and Haryana on October 15.
