Clockwork lion sculpture unveiled in Trafalgar Square

The four bronze lions of Londons central Trafalgar Square got a temporary addition on 28 January, with a clockwork sculpture of the animal unveiled to highlight the plight of big cats. The statue, made of clockwork mechanics, will stand in the square for just a day before being auctioned off to raise money for National Geographics Big Cats Initiative, which says it aims to halt the decline of big cats in the wild. Holocaust Memorial Day: Obama says ‘we are all Jews’

US President Barack Obama marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day on 27 January, by repeating the words of US Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds taken prisoner during World War II who told his German captors, “we are all Jews. The US leader also exhorted his audience to fight what he said is a rising tide of anti-Semitism around the world.
