Pawar attacks Narendra Modi on Gujarat riots, BJP reacts

Pune, Feb 23 (ANI): A day after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar raked up the 2002 Gujarat riots and questioned BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's development claims, the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has hit back accusing Pawar of psuedo-secularism. Infiltration by militants under control in Kashmir: Army

Srinagar, Uri Feb 23 (ANI): The beefed up vigil and strict measures taken by security forces have succeeded in controlling infiltration by militants in Jammu and Kashmir, said a senior Army officer. Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh said that elimination of top militants has made a major difference to their activities in the valley. Earlier, a huge cache was recovered by a joint team of army during a search operation launched in the Kamal Kote area of Uri town in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police inaction provokes gang raped teen to consume poison in Bijnor

Bijnor, Feb 23 (ANI): After sitting on a hunger strike for days against police's failure to arrest the four men who allegedly gang raped her, an 18-year-old girl attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. The victim’s mother alleged that her daughter was forced to take this extreme step as no action was taken after the complaint was filed with the police. Militancy down by 70 % in Kashmir: Omar

Jammu, Feb 23 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah said that militancy in the state had come down by 70 percent in the last five years. The Kashmir region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.
