Robert Vadra may lose airport security privilege, politicos react

New Delhi, Sep 10(ANI): According to reports Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has asked the aviation officials to tone down the existing list of people exempt from the security checks at airports. Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has 30 people on the exempt list which begins with the President and goes up to special protection group protectees. The list also includes the Dalai Lama. The only individual listed in that list (on number 31) is Robert Vadra. It seems Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra may soon lose his exalted frisking privileges at the airports. Sep 10, 2014

KCR warns media against insulting Telangana, politicos slam

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday faced flak for his comment on media. KCR threatened to bury the media "ten feet under the earth" if they continue to insult the newly-carved out state. Massive rescue operations underway as flood situation remains grim in JandK

Srinagar, Sep 10 (ANI): Rising death toll in Kashmir and worst floods in 60 years submerged villages and destroyed crops as the number of dead hit 420 and thousands remained trapped on rooftops. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had earlier said that paramilitary and defence forces were pressed into service to rescue people stranded on rooftops and flooded residential areas. A tourist affected by floods, Rajat Khanna, said he waded through neck-deep floodwater to reach a safer place. Another tourist who has been stranded due to floods, Mitesh Chugh, said all connections were snapped. Soldiers rescued families using boats or airlifted them from rooftops by helicopter after the river Jhelum burst its banks in Srinagar, but many more remained stranded. Sep 10, 2014

Nirbhaya's nurse reportedly gang-raped, Reactions Flow

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): In yet another serious crime against women, Delhi Gangrape victim Nirbhaya's nurse has allegedly been gang-raped in Punjab. Reacting to this, BJP leader Sambit Patra said that it was a deplorable incident and strict action should be taken. SP leader Naresh Agarwal said that increasing crime against women is a sign of bad governance. Congress leader Barkha Shukla said that immediate cognizance should be taken in the matter and action should be taken against all the accused. Govt to remove LoP post from Lok Sabha, Politicos React

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Since the absence of Leader of Opposition is becoming a hurdle in the appointment of the CVC and CIC, the Government will be very soon taking a conclusive decision on the removal of LoP from the Lok Sabha. Reacting on the Government's proposal, Congress leader Manish Tewari said that instead of removing the post of LoP why doesn't the government tell the speaker that Congress is the biggest opposition party and that it should get the post.
