Kejriwal would win 'Guinness World Record for lies': Congress

New Delhi, Feb 23 (ANI): The Congress on Sunday kick started an 'expose-all' campaign against Delhi's former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, whom it accused of abandoning the national capital at the mercy of bureaucrats to further his own political ambitions. Thousands of Congress workers assembled at Connaught Place's Central Park where a 20-foot effigy of Kejriwal's falsehood was burnt. Speaking at the site, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Arvinder Singh Lovely said that if Guinness World Records had a category for lies, Kejriwal would win without any competition.

Hyderbad, Feb 23 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar's comments about BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi should not be taken seriously, and that the former was saying such things because he was closely associated with the Congress. Pawar on Saturday attacked the BJP prime ministerial candidate on the 2002 riots issue, saying the entire country has seen the "mass murders" that took place in Gujarat.

Infiltration by militants under control in Kashmir: Army

Srinagar, Uri Feb 23 (ANI): The beefed up vigil and strict measures taken by security forces have succeeded in controlling infiltration by militants in Jammu and Kashmir, said a senior Army officer. Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh said that elimination of top militants has made a major difference to their activities in the valley. Earlier, a huge cache was recovered by a joint team of army during a search operation launched in the Kamal Kote area of Uri town in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. However, the army denied that the recovery of these weapons had anything to do with a fresh infiltration.

Police inaction provokes gang raped teen to consume poison in Bijnor

Bijnor, Feb 23 (ANI): After sitting on a hunger strike for days against police's failure to arrest the four men who allegedly gang raped her, an 18-year-old girl attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. The victim’s mother alleged that her daughter was forced to take this extreme step as no action was taken after the complaint was filed with the police. Superintendent of Police VK Shekhar, said that action in any case can be taken only after gathering of evidence.
