Govt to submit list of black money holders under sealed cover to SC: Pinky Anand

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Additional Solicitor General of India, Pinky Anand said on Wednesday that the Government will submit a list of black money holders to the Supreme Court under its directions. She said that the names shall be given under a sealed cover and not be made public. The Supreme Court had directed the government yesterday to submit the names of black money account holders on Wednesday.

Gujarat prepares for cyclone Nilofar

Gujarat, Oct 29 (ANI): As cyclone Nilofar is expected to hit Gujarat coast in a couple of days, authorities have intensified relief and rescue arrangements as precautionary measures to handle the cyclonic storm. Nilofar, classified as a 'very severe cyclonic storm', is expected to weaken to a 'cyclonic storm'when it makes landfall on the Gujarat coast, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, said bad weather and heavy rainfall has been predicted for coastal regions on October 30-31. On Monday Gujarat weather office issued a high alert on the cyclone and said the storm has intensified turning into severe one. In the wake of the situation, Commander of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Rakesh Kumar Joon, said 60 NDRF teams have been deployed in the regions which are at high alert. The District Magistrate (Collector) of Gir Somnath district, CP Patel, has requested the tourists to return home while the fishermen have been called back from sea.

London, Oct 29 (ANI): British Prime Minister David Cameron unveiled an encyclopaedia on Hinduism in London. The encyclopaedia has been published by the India Heritage Research Foundation founded and chaired by Swami Chidanand Saraswati, who was present at the gala event. Sharing his knowledge on the philosophy of Hinduism, Saraswati said the encyclopaedia gives an insight into theories of the religion. The Hindu Diaspora in Britain has emerged to be flourishing. Members are well established in professional fields -law, media, medicine, engineering, and accounting -and in many branches of business.

Building collapse in Bangalore kills one, injures four

Bangalore, Oct 29 (ANI): One died and four others were injured in Bangalore after an old building collapsed. Authorities rushed to the spot immediately to rescue people and clear the debris. Junior Interior Minister in Bangalore, KJ George, called it an unfortunate incident and assured compensation to victims. Police authorities also reached the accident site to further investigate the collapse. Meanwhile, a resident of Bangalore, Priya told about the incident. Another such incident was reported on October 09 when a building collapsed due to rain in the city, killing two including a child.

Kashmir needs responsible leader: CPI (M)

New Delhi/ Srinagar, Oct 28 (ANI): Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) said on Tuesday the people of Jammu and Kashmir should choose a leader who can help them in rehabilitation after the floods last month destroyed the valley. State unit secretary of CPI-M in Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami, said elections in the state should be conducted as scheduled for December. However, Kashmir's capital Srinagar has witnessed protests with people demanding the assembly polls be postponed. The business, agriculture, tourism and handicraft industries have all gone down after the floods. India's opposition Congress party had also opposed the elections in the state. However, Congress leader Saifuddin Soz expressed confidence in his party, saying Modi government has not done enough to help the flood victims.

Names of all black money account holders will be given to SC: Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): Shortly after the Supreme Court asked the government to reveal all the names of Indians holding illegal bank accounts abroad by Wednesday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that the government has no hesitation in submitting the names and would do so tomorrow. Jaitley also added that the Centre is not interested in protecting anybody. The Supreme Court had rapped the Centre for seeking modification of its order on black money on disclosing names of account holders in foreign banks.
