Shimla, Feb 01 (ANI): A fresh spell of snow in Himachal Pradesh has attracted a large number of tourists and adventure sports lovers to undertake snow trekking in the serene beauty of the picturesque valley. Snow trekking is a popular adventure sport among tourists in hill town of Shimla. On Sunday, tourists trekked along the snow-capped mountains while being careful about the slippery terrain. A tourist Archana Singh said that the sight of the mighty Himalayas has thrilled them. Chilly winds could not dampen the spirit of the revelers as they were seen frolicking in the snow. Snow Adventure Sports Expert Jampa Negi said snow sports was a major attraction for tourists thronging the state in winters. EC issues show cause notice to AAP

New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): The Election Commission (EC) has issued a show cause notice to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for violating the Model Code of Conduct. The notice was reportedly issued after Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay complained about the AAP's posters depicting his party's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi without her permission. The AAP has been asked to submit its reply by Monday, failing which the poll panel would take action against it. Kiran Bedi had earlier sent a legal notice to her rival Kejriwal for using her images in AAP's posters without her permission. Adding to the party's woes, a police complaint had also been filed against AAP leader Kumar Vishwas on Saturday for allegedly making sexist comments against Bedi at a recent rally held in the national capital. New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): A delegation of members of Shiromani Akali Dal on Sunday met Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh over 1984 Anti-Sikh Riot Case. The leaders visited Singh demanding justice in the case. Delhi SAD (B) President Manjit Singh said that the home ministry received their recommendation and has said that he will ensure justice in the case. Earlier, A government-appointed committee has recommended constitution of a SIT for re-investigation of the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases. According to sources, the committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (retd) G P Mathur has submitted its report to Rajnath Singh last week and recommended fresh probe of the anti-Sikh riot cases through a Special Investigation Team. Japan's Defence Minister says video showing beheading of Japanese journalist 'appears genuine'

Tokyo, Feb 01 (ANI): A video purporting to show the beheading of Japanese journalist Kenji Goto by Islamic State militants appears genuine, Defence Minister Gen Nakatani said on Sunday. Islamic State militants said on Saturday that they had beheaded Goto, after the failure of international efforts to secure his release through a prisoner swap. The hardline Islamist group released a video which seemed to show the beheaded body of Goto and threatened further attacks on Japanese targets. Japan condemned the actions of the militants and said Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's cabinet would meet in response to the video, which showed a hooded man standing over Goto with a knife to his throat, followed by footage of a head put on the back of a human body. Meanwhile, Goto's brother said that he was saddened on the loss and that he had hoped to welcome Kenji back to Japan. Feb 1, 2015

Swaraj said that the Indo-China relation has grown beyond bilateral and regional dimension and today covers entire information spectrum. Swaraj who is accompanied on the trip by Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar, said that India would make it easier for Chinese companies to do business in the country and expect that similar encouragement would be given to Indian companies to expand their business in China. Police recover cocaine from Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko

Kochi, Feb 01 (ANI): Police arrested Malayalam film actor, Shine Tom Chacko along with four others for possession of cocaine in Kochi city of Kerala. The police arrested the five people during a raid at a flat owned by a businessman, Muhammed Nisham. Seven grams of cocaine was recovered from their possession. The other four arrested along with Chacko have been identified as Blessy, an assistant director hailing from Bengaluru and three models-Tincy, Reshma and Sneha. While interrogation, the actor confessed to having received the drugs from Goa. Reportedly, all the five people are to be produced before a session court after police questioning. Kolkata court extends judicial custody of 11 accused in Burdwan blast case

Kolkata, Feb 01 (ANI): Kolkata court extended the judicial custody of 11 people including two women, accused in 2014 Burdwan blast, till February 13. Two operatives of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh were killed in an explosion while preparing homemade bombs in Burdwan district of West Bengal in October last year. The counsel of National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the blast, Shyamal Ghosh said that a bail application has been filed by one of the accused. MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashes in Gujarat

Jamnagar, Feb 01 (ANI): A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Gujarat. An eyewitness, Mahavir said that the crash was result of an explosion. The pilot managed to eject safely with the help of parachute, say villagers.
