He added that those born in an independent India didn’t get the opportunity to die for the nation but they can now live for the nation. DDA postpones housing scheme draw till indefinite period

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has indefinitely postponed the date for a lucky draw of its much-sought-after housing scheme once again. It is learnt that the DDA was unable to wrap up the process in less than six hours during mock draws and hence postponed the actual draw. Forms for more than 25,000 houses were available till October 09, starting from September 01. Marathon, cyclothon in Vishakhapatnam to cheer up cyclone-affected residents

Vishakhapatnam, Nov 17 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh government on Monday lined up a string of events to boost the morale and cheer up cyclone Hudhud-affected victims in port city of Visakhapatnam. The authorities organised marathon and cyclothon with an aim to revive the brand image of Visakhapatnam as a tourist and investment destination. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to take a whirlwind tour of the city later in the day to participate in several tourism and developmental activities. Events like marathon, cyclothon, tree plantation, yoga performance, sand art, crafts fair, art camp, ramp walk, etc were organised at R K beach. While speaking at the event, party President Sonia Gandhi said that Nehru was a leader who gave all his life working for the nation and for the unity and prosperity of the nation. Gandhi said that Nehru always believed that secularism was the main crux of Indian Constitution and that he was always ready to fight against power that would pick up caste based issues in the nation. She also said that the former PM believed that secularism was not just an idea but a necessity for a diverse nation like India. The congress president also acknowledged Nehru's work in putting the path of modernization, industrialization and social reforms. The Congress party has barred the NDA leaders from the event and the invitation was sent to all non-BJP parties. Cultural programs enthrall audience awaiting PM Modi's speech at Allphones Arena

Sydney, Nov 17 (ANI): For the first time, Sydney is witnessing Indian patriotism to such a great height as Indianness came out in expat countrymen with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the city. Thousands of members of the Indian diaspora readied on Monday for a public address by Prime Minister Modi, who is the first prime minister to visit Australia in 28 years after Rajiv Gandhi. Cultural programs has already begun at the Allphones Arena in Sydney even as Modi is to start his first ever speech in Australia's biggest city. About 16,000 members of the Indian diaspora are packing the arena excited and looking forward to see Modi speak and create the ‘Madison Square Garden magic’ once again. At least 5,000 more are expected to be watching the event on big screens outside. Some have travelled from as far as the United States, Singapore and New Zealand.
