The visit of a Pakistani parliamentary delegation to the Lok Sabha created a flutter after the delegation members claimed that the Speaker did not meet them after giving time. The delegation comprising 12 Pakistani parliamentarians arrived on an initiative taken by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency and their visit to the Parliament House was arranged by Mani Shankar Aiyar. Police constable injured in attack by juveniles in Meerut succumbs to injuries

Meerut, Dec 12 (ANI): A police constable who was injured in an attack by a group of inmates of a juvenile justice home succumbed to his injuries on Friday (December 12) in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh. A group of 16 juvenile justice home inmates attacked the police personnel when they were being brought back to Meerut from Bulandshahr after their court appearance on Thursday. According to police, the juveniles were passing lewd comments on women and when the policemen objected, the boys attacked them. Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut, Onkar Singh, said the policemen were battered by cricket bats. The United Nations declared June 21 to be celebrated as International Day of Yoga, a demand put forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the United Nations early this year. The 193-member UN General Assembly approved by consensus a resolution establishing a day to commemorate the ancient practice.
