Dhaka, Sep 19 (ANI): The youth wing of Bangladesh's ruling Awami League, the Awami Jubo League protested against Supreme Court's verdict to commute death sentence of a top Islamist leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi to life imprisonment and also against the strike called by the opposition Jamaat-e-Islami in Dhaka. The court on Wednesday commuted Sayedee's death sentence to life imprisonment. The Islamic leader is convicted of war crimes during the country's war of liberation in 1971. Sayedee, had appealed against the decision by a war crimes tribunal over crimes of arson, looting, murder and rape, and the apex court on Wednesday ordered that he spend the rest of his life in prison.
