Gaya, Feb 25 (ANI): Maoists victimize family of a dead police informer in “red corridor” region of Gaya in Bihar, demolishing and turning their houses and farmlands into ashes, leaving them in distress with no means of livelihood. Lamenting government's apathy, the family said that the authorities had failed to provide them any compensation or help for their survival. The Maoists had attacked house of Vijay Yadav after brandishing him as a police informer in March 2011. The rebels also looted the house before burning it down. After the incident, Yadav fled from the village with his family members.

Opposition slams Shindes crush media remark, Congress clarifies

New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Giving clarification over his remark to "crush" the electronic media, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday said that he did not mean "journalism" but “social media”. New Delhi, Feb 25 (ANI): Supreme Court on Tuesday referred a plea for voluntary passive euthanasia in the case of a person who is terminally ill and in medical opinion there is little hope of revival and recovery, to the constitution bench of 5 judges. The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam said an earlier judgement of the court on voluntary passive euthanasia in Aruna Shanbaug's case did lay down a certain procedure but it was not clear.
