Black money case: Jaitley says Govt not reluctant to reveal names

It happens: Buddhist monks performs special prayers for world peace

Bodhgaya, Oct 17 (ANI): Buddhist monks of Lao People's Democratic Republic on Wednesday performed special prayers in holy town of Bodhgaya for world peace and tranquillity. Envoy of People's Democratic Republic, Southam Sakonninhom, participated in the prayers and after inaugurating the new building of Lao Buddhist monastery. Lao envoy expressed happiness after performing the prayers and hailed the country's tradition. Buddhists believe that the Buddha, "the awakened", to the laws of the universe, which are said to be operating eternally. Buddhist scriptures describe Bodh Gaya as the "Navel of the Earth", where pilgrims and tourists from Sri Lanka, China, Japan and the entire of southeastern Asia throng to this holiest of Buddhist shrines every year. SAARC energy ministers meet in New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): The fifth meeting of the energy ministers of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was held in New Delhi on Friday, with an aim to strengthen energy cooperation among the member countries. Energy ministers and senior officials from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were part of the meeting. India's Power and Coal Minister, Piyush Goyal, said that the similarities between the socio-economic conditions would help the SAARC nations to stay together and become a regional economic power house. Leander Paes lodges FIR, claims threat to life from ex-cricketer Atul Sharma

Mumbai, Oct 17 (ANI): Tennis player Leander Paes on Friday lodged an FIR in Mumbai against former cricketer Atul Sharma. Paes alleged that Shrama had threatened to kill him and his daughter. According to the reports, Paes told the police that Sharma had threatened him in a court earlier this year. Paes had alleged that Sharma is in a relationship with his estranged partner Rhea Pillai and that when he tried to produce evidence of their relationship in the court, the cricketer threatened him of dire consequences. Congress stage protest against state govt over rise in dengue cases in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Oct 17 (ANI): Workers of Congress party on Friday protested against the government of Madhya Pradesh for they say it has failed to curb the rising cases of dengue in the state. Reportedly, central city of Bhopal is in the grip of the worst dengue outbreak it has seen in the last five years. The total dengue cases reported in Bhopal is 343 of which 23 cases were registered on Thursday. The six major cases are from Kolar area. The District President of Congress party, PC Sharma said they demand immediate treatment for the patients. Three accused arrested in Gurgaon north-east student assault case

Gurgaon, Oct 17 (ANI): Three accused in the Gurgaon north-east student assault case were arrested by the Gurgaon Police on Friday. Gurgaon east DCP Nazneen Bhasin said that the police was able to arrest the accused in a very short span of time. She added that the accused were inebriated and violent and ethnic racial element was there in the attack. Three north-eastern youths were allegedly beaten up on Thursday by local goons in Sikandarpur village of Gurgaon.
