Celebrated in the premises of Narsingh Temple situated 50 Kms from Samba district, the mela signifies the end of winter days wherein days become longer and nights become shorter. The Mela is also known as Blanket fair and is popular for the fine quality of woolen sold here. From hand woven shawls to machine made ones all are bought here and sold. A similar example is seen during the urs of Hazrat Shah Bulaqar at Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh where devotes belonging to different religious beliefs come together and seek blessings of the saint. During the urs, the devotees hold day and night long prayers, while paying homage to the saint. Men and women are seen chanting hymns and ask for blessings of the saint. People of different communities who pay a visit to the shrine are given a warm reception by their Muslim brethren.
