Security forces gun down three militants in Kashmir

Handwara, Oct 29 (ANI): Security forces killed three militants in a gun battle in Handwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. A soldier was also reported dead. The encounter started at Rajwada forest of the district on Tuesday. On the tip off intelligence, a massive search operation was launched in a village where the three militants were suspected to be hiding. Reportedly, Indian army launched a joint search operation with the police on Monday night, which ended on Wednesday. The militants fired few rounds at the security forces to which they retaliated, reports said. Bodhgaya, Oct 29 (ANI): Westerners in the Buddhist holy town of Bodhgaya launched a cleanliness drive on Wednesday (October 29), the first day of the Hindu festival of 'Chhath'. Chhath is considered an extremely auspicious festival by the people of Bihar and in parts of Uttar Pradesh. The Chhath, celebrated on the sixth and seventh days after Diwali, the festival of lights, is significant for married women who observe a three-day fast and standing in waist-deep river waters, present religious offerings to the Sun God.The cleanliness drive was led by a French national, Jean Pierre, who runs a school for poor children in Bodhgaya. Irish national found dead at Chandari railway station

Kanpur, Oct 29 (ANI): The mutilated body of an Irish national was found lying beside a railway track at Chandari station near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday (October 29). The deceased has been identified as Ivan Mainwaring, reportedly a national of Ireland. The police are considering this case to be a railway accident so far. Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector, Chandari railway station, Mahadev, said that it seemed that Mainwaring died after falling off a moving train. Police are investigating into the matter. Reactions pour in as Govt submits list of black money account holders to SC

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Wednesday after LG Najeeb Jung said that he will explore the possibility of government formation in Delhi over the next few days. BJP's Delhi unit President Satish Upadhyay said that Najeeb Jung was made governor by Congress and not by BJP and so he won't take decisions which may favor BJP. However, Congress leader JP Aggarwal said that 35 MLAs have submitted letters to Jung seeking fresh elections in Delhi and still Jung wants to hold consultations with all the political parties.
