Singapore president receives ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam attended official welcome in New Delhi on Monday at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Yam walked along a red carpet and stood under a red canvas as a military band played the Singapore and national anthem. On his arrival at the presidential palace, he was welcomed by President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After brief pleasantries, Yam took the salute and inspected the guard of honour. Yam arrived in national capital on Sunday on a four-day-visit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. President Yam, who is accompanied by his wife Mary Tan, will also inaugurate an exhibition at the national museum in New Delhi. Feb 9, 2015

He also said that JD (U) will point out to the Governor that Jitan Manjhi doesn't enjoy majority support and added that Governor should give Jitan Manjhi 48 hours to prove majority or swear-in Nitish Kumar as CM and give him time to prove majority in 48 hours. Need evidence to take action against black money account holders, centre taking rigorous steps: Jait

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said that there is a need for evidence and that only revelation of names of the black money account holders is not enough to initiate legal action. The Centre has initiated tax-evasion proceedings against 60 Indian accounts that have allegedly parked black money in foreign accounts, Jaitley said. Jaitley further said the Centre has put in rigorous efforts towards digging black money during the last six to seven months. He said that most of the names revealed in the list today are known to the government. He said that the assessments of 350 account holders have been done and the rest will be completed by March 31. New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Amid deepening political crisis in Bihar, JD (U) expelled Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi from the party. Manjhi, who has refused to resign as Bihar Chief Minister to make way for Nitish Kumar, has been expelled by his the party. According to sources, Manjhi, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and reportedly discussed the Bihar situation, was accused of anti-party activities. "I am the Chief Minister and I will be here till the legislature party decides otherwise," Manjhi had said on Sunday. Manjhi had also promised to step down if he failed to prove his majority. Rs Pura Sector, Feb 09 (ANI): In yet another case of ceasefire violation, the Pakistani forces opened fire at ten border outposts in Jammu's RS Pura Sector on late Sunday night. In response to the unprovoked firing from Pakistan at 11:30 pm last night, the BSF troops retaliated to the firing.
