Salman Khan hit-and-run-case: Doctor seeks police protection

Mumbai, Jan 19 (ANI): The public prosecutor in the 2002 hit-and-run case of Bollywood actor Salman Khan said the doctor who had collected the blood samples of the actor has requested the sessions court for police protection. Gharat also said the defence advocate was not well and asked for a new date for the next hearing. New Delhi, Jan 19 (ANI): Congress party on Monday released a booklet of 'U-Turn' targeting AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal on the promises which he made but failed to fulfill. Congress leader Ajay Maken said that a booklet has been compiled mentioning the u-turns taken by Kejriwal during his government. Maken said that Congress wanted the people of Delhi to decide if they wanted to give the responsibility of running the government to an irresponsible man who can only sit on protests. Opposition flays BJP for induction of Kiran Bedi, BJP clarifies

New Delhi/ Noida, Jan 19 (ANI): Major political parties snubbed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (January 19) after it inducted former IPS officer and social activist, Kiran Bedi, ahead of polls in Delhi. Bedi was one of the core members of social activist Anna Hazare's team and supported him throughout his fight against corruption and formulation of an Ombudsman Act. AAP leader Ashutosh said the decision to induct Bedi would backfire on BJP. Congress leader PC Chacko also said Bedi would prove to be a liability to BJP. BJP leaders Jagdish Mukhi and Harsh Vardhan have defended the move and said Bedi would infuse party workers. Polls in Delhi will be held on February 07 and results will be declared on February 10. Srinagar, Jan 19 (ANI): Indian army on Monday defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Jammu and Kashmir. Police and army found a three-kg IED in a cooker in Narbal area. The bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and the explosion was carried out in open fields.
