Road accident kills six in Assam

Sonitpur, Jan 31 (ANI): Six persons were killed in a road accident in Sonitpur district of Assam on Saturday. The collision was between a bus and a car carrying a marriage party on the National Highway 15. The marriage party was on their way from the wedding 200 kilometers away, to the groom's house. While four people, including the married couple died on the spot, two others died after being brought to a nearby hospital. The car was totalled. In a separate incident on Saturday, five labourers were killed when a truck laden with bricks skidded off the road in the same district. Jan 31, 2015

School in Chennai attempts record for largest book reading session

Chennai, Jan 31 (ANI): A school in Tamil Nadu attempted to make a record for the largest book reading session on Friday. A total of 2234 students of the Velammal Matric Higher Secondary School in Chennai gathered in the school grounds to attend the reading session. Senior students took out time to read to their junior schoolmates as they sat on chairs together. The book that was chosen was 'Dora the Explorer', which revolves around the adventures of a young girl and her pet monkey. The session was organised to inculcate the art of reading in young children, which many believe has been lost to technology like computer games and television. Jan 31, 2015

Sakshi Maharaj takes on UP government after recovery ofskeletons

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sakshi Maharaj on Saturday came down heavily on the Uttar Pradesh government following recovery of human skeletons in gunny bags from inside a police station campus. The skeletons were recovered in Unnao district, represented by Maharaj in parliament. Local media said after seeing the condition of the bags and skeletons, it seemed that they were kept there for a long period. Vishwas at a political rally for upcoming Delhi polls, said that BJP has two issues with AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal. He had said that the BJP has two problems with Kejriwal; first with his muffler and second with his coughing, and 'as if they have to sleep with Kejriwal in his bedroom'. New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): A new research has recently shown that men take twice more selfies and share them online as compared to women. A leading smartphone company surveyed 2,000 Britishers and found that a quarter of men shares selfies to make their ex or current partner jealous, a leading daily reported. The researchers found that men post an average of three self portraits each week as compared to women who post 1.6 pictures. Men even confessed that they do so to make themselves appear more desirable. According to the researchers the selfie trend exploded in 2014 and showed no signs of slowing down, instead of that with all the social sites and dating apps having the best possible photos was an important part. Srinagar, Jan 31 (ANI): India's thriving film industry, Bollywood, is once again flocking to its favourite shooting locales in Jammu and Kashmir to shoot for films. The valley was a favourite with Bollywood directors for over three decades till 1980s until the situation turned adverse in 1989 with the onset of militancy and Bollywood had to look for other locations to shoot as the security issues did not permit filming in the valley. Prior to the peace in the valley being disturbed iconic films like 'Silsila', 'Karma', 'Aarzoo', 'Mangal Pandey', 'Betaab' and many others were shot here. Bollywood Director Sharique Minhaj said that Bollywood was not able to do justice to its relation with Kashmir. However, now there is a visible change in this perception and Bollywood is going back to highlighting the picturesque beauty of Kashmir.
