Congress condemns, BJP supports Natarajans allegations on Gandhis

New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Former UPA minister and senior Congress leader Jayanthi Natarajan on Friday resigned from the party alleging that Rahul Gandhi interfered in the working of the ministry. Condemning the statement, Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh and Shobha Oza said that the party leadership, be it Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, never interfered in the decision making of the ministries. Meanwhile BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman supported the allegation saying that Natarajan's allegation has only confirmed what BJP used to say that UPA interfered with government's work. Jan 30, 2015

TMC leader Mukul Roy appears before CBI officials probing Sharda scam

Kolkata, Jan 30 (ANI): TMC leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's close aid Mukul Roy appeared before the CBI, on Friday to face interrogation in connection with his alleged involvement in the Sharda scam. Roy, who also held railway portfolio briefly in the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cabinet, denied any wrongdoing. Emerging from the CBI building, Roy said he cooperated with the investigators. At least 48 children rescued from bangle factories in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (ANI): Police rescued at least 48 child labourers from bangle factories in Hyderabad. The children were rescued after police carried out multiple raids across the city. Most of them belonged to Bihar state. The police have been carrying out raids as part of their 'Smile' programme to rescue minor children working in hazardous conditions. Hyderabad Police circle officer, N Rama Rao said they have booked a case against the owners and efforts are on to nab the culprits. Some children said they were forced to abandon their studies and work in factories with either no pay or little pay. A 13-year-old Mohammad Ruhail, who came from Bihar, said he was forced to work because of poverty. Jan 30, 2015

She further said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had stopped her from issuing environmental clearances to several projects; however, after she resigned Gandhi himself said at a FICCI conference that environmental clearances would be made easy now.
