New Delhi, Nov 6 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked 15th in the Forbes list of world's most powerful people this year. Russian President Vladimir Putin has piped his US counterpart Barack Obama for a second year in a row and is at the top. The list of 72 most powerful people in the world also includes Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the 36th position, Arcelor Mittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal at 57th and Microsoft's Indian-born CEO Satya Nadella at 64th position. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who was the highest ranked Indian last year at 21, is no longer a part of the list. Nov 6, 2014

Varanasi/Allahabad/Hapur/Ayodhya, Nov 6 (ANI): Thousands of devotees converged at holy River Ganges in Uttar Pradesh to take a holy dip on the occasion of ‘Kartik Purnima’ on Thursday. Devout Hindus thronged river bank in Allahabad to perform rituals at the confluence of three holy rivers-- Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. In Varanasi also, devotees marked the occasion with religious pageantry. Another devotee, Sushma, said earthen oil lamps are floated in the river and prayers are offered to the almighty. It was organised by the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives under its Science for Monks Program and was flagged off by the education minister in exiled-Tibetan government, Ngodup Tsering. The conference focused on ‘Harmony and Happiness’ and delved into Buddhist concept of connections. It was open to students, monks and people from all walks of life.
