Snowfall in higher reaches of Kashmir affects traffic

Rajouri, Nov 29 (ANI): Snowfall in higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir slowed down traffic and hit visibility on the arterial Mughal Road that connects the valley with rest of the country. Snowfall in Pir ki Gali in Rajouri district dropped temperatures as the Meteorological Department, had predicted snowfall in the higher reaches of the state. Residents are worried that the continuous snowfall will block the Mughal road, which will affect businesses and tourist movement. The road brings Poonch and Rajouri district in the state closer to the summer capital, Srinagar in Kashmir valley. Meanwhile, a tourist Mohammed Akram said the administration should take steps to clear roads so that even tourists can enjoy the beauty of the valley. Nov 29, 2014

Siliguri, Nov 29 (ANI): Rebecca Aditi Sandlert, who was adopted by a Swedish parent, thirty four years back, returned to India in search of her real parents in Siliguri. Born of a Nepali mother and Bengali father on June 28, 1980 Sandlert landed at an orphanage in Kolkata from a nursing home in Siliguri. Her mother gave her up after she was left with no resources to support the child being a single parent as her husband had left her following his family's opposition to the marriage. Few months later, she was adopted by a Swedish family. Sandlert’s Friend, Sidney Norling who is accompanying her to India, hoped to find her roots. Nov 29, 2014

Kano, Nov 29 (ANI): Three bombs exploded and gunmen opened fire on the Muslim faithful gathered for prayers at the main Mosque in north Nigeria's biggest city Kano. Media reports say that dozens have been killed and more than one hundred people have been hurt by the explosions. The mosque is next to the palace of the emir of Kano, the second highest Islamic authority in Africa's most populous country. But security reports given so far said Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is safe, and he wasn't in the mosque at the time of the incident. The police blocked the accident area right after they arrived at the bomb site, and started the rescue right away. Modi, who was elected in May to represent the 3,000-year-old riverside city of Varanasi, has taken personal responsibility to upgrade the holy city into India's one of the first smart cities. The organizers and businessmen who will be the part of the project were present at the 'seminar on intelligent cities'. Urban Development ministry Secretary, Shankar Aggarwal interacted with the people and officials involved with the ambitious project. Aggarwal said a smart city may have diverse significance for different groups belonging to various fields.
