Andhra Pradesh, May 29 (ANI): Chief minister-elect of India's new state, Telangana, which will come into existence on June 02, K Chandrasekhar Rao, called for a shutdown on Thursday (May 29) to protest the move of the central government to issue an ordinance related to the merger of a few villages of Khammam district into Andhra Pradesh. The city wore a deserted look as shops and business establishments remained closed at many places, including Hyderabad. Bus services from Hyderabad to various destinations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were also suspended. Health Minister's clarion call for students to campaign against tobacco consumption

New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan, flagged off a rally of school students in New Delhi on Friday, a day ahead of 'World No Tobacco Day' to draw attention towards the health risks associated with tobacco consumption. The rally was part of the activities taken up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the WHO, to mark the 'World No Tobacco Day' in order to promote the theme 'Raise taxes on tobacco to reduce tobacco consumption' for this year. Globally, every year, 31st May is observed as World No Tobacco Day.
