New Delhi, July 09 (ANI): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hailed the railway budget that sought public-private partnerships to finance the bulk of future railway projects to modernize the vast but underfunded network. Indian railways minister Sadananda Gowda_s move to push private investment signals the appetite Prime Minister Narendra Modi_s new government has for taking tough and unpopular decisions he said are needed to revive the economy. New Delhi, July 09 (ANI): Safety, cleanliness, improved technology and tourism were the focus areas of the railway budget, said railway board chairman Arunendra Kumar. Kumar said technology was being used in a big way and the focus was also made on rail tourism. Meanwhile, Kumar also said resources were required in railways and he looked forwards to investments. In his maiden rail budget, Railway Minister, Sadananda Gowda, said his ministry would seek cabinet approval for allowing FDI in railways, but passenger services would be excluded.
