British archive rediscovers ‘lost’ Oswald the Lucky Rabbit Disney film

A researcher has rediscovered a “lost” Disney film, starring Oswalk the Lucky Rabbit, the character long thought to be the inspiration for Mickey Mouse. The short film, with a running time of about six minutes, will be shown in early December as part of a programme including other Disney shorts from the 1930s to the present day, the British Film Institute (BFI) National Archive said on Tuesday. Rare 12-carat blue diamond expected sell for $35-55m at auction

An extremely rare 12-carat blue diamond, exhibited by Sothebys in Geneva on Wednesday (4 November), is expected to break a record at auction in a weeks time with a price estimate of $35-55m (£23-36m).The gem was discovered in January 2014 as part of a 29.62 carat blue rough diamond at Cullinan mine in South Africa, the worlds main source for blue diamonds. Sothebys International Jewellery Division Chairman and Auctioneer, David Bennett, said that experts had deemed it internally flawless due to its clarity, colour and size. Nov 4, 2015
