Discussion on Gaza violence to be held in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): The Rajya Sabha on Monday will have a short-duration discussion on violence in Gaza, where hundreds of people having lost their lives. Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari last week turned down government_s request to drop the discussion on the violence in Gaza. A strident opposition led by the Congress and the Left parties on Friday reportedly stalled proceedings in Rajya Sabha during Question Hour demanding immediate discussion on killings of innocent women and children in Gaza. The BJP-led NDA government was placed in a tight spot over its reluctance to hold a discussion on the issue even after the motion was admitted by the presiding officer. Police recover 43 illicit weapons, arrest five in New Delhi

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): The police recovered 43 illicit weapons in New Delhi and arrested five men in the year-long search operation. While addressing a news conference Special Commissioner of Police New Delhi, SN Srivastava, said such illicit weapons were abused by the criminals. Police to present arrested accused in sexual assault of minor in Bangalore before Court

Bangalore, July 21 (ANI): Police in Bangalore city of Karnataka arrested one accused in the sexual assault of a six-year-old school girl which will be produced before court on Monday. The accused, Mustafa alias Munna, who is in his early 30s, was working as a skating instructor in the school since 2011. A native of eastern province of Bihar, he had been staying in Bangalore for more than 20 years. Indian Army defuses two live mortar shells in Kashmir

RS Pura, July 21 (ANI): Indian Army defused two live mortar shells in a village in R.S. Pura sector in Jammu city of Jammu and Kashmir. The explosives were recovered following the cross-border firing which started on July 16 when Pakistani side targeted an Indian post in RS Pura sector in which a soldier died and three others were injured. Kids paint myriad hues of Ramadan in Kashmir

Israel expands ground offensive in Gaza, kills at least 40 Palestinians

Gaza, July 20 (ANI): At least 40 Palestinians were killed on Sunday by Israeli shelling in a Gaza neighbourhood, where bodies were strewn in the street and thousands fled toward a hospital packed with wounded, health officials said. The mass casualties in the Shejaia district in northeast Gaza were the heaviest since Israel launched its offensive on the Palestinian territory on July 8 after cross-border rocket strikes by militants intensified. Patna police seizes money and jwellery stolen from Sadhu Yadav's house

Patna, July 20 (ANI): A sum of Rs 39 lakh and other valuables stolen from former RJD MP Sadhu Yadav's house last month have been recovered and three persons arrested in the case, Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said on Sunday. During interrogation, Kundan Kumar Sah had confessed about his role in the burglary at the residence of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's brother-in-law on June 12. Lucknow, July 20 (ANI): An FIR has been filed against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Alka Lamba for allegedly sharing the picture of the Lucknow rape victim, who was brutally raped and stabbed to death, on a social networking site. Complainant Rakesh Singh said that this should be included in cyber crime and demanded arrest of Lamba.
