Security forces killed two terrorists during an encounter at Guloora area of Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Tuesday. The terrorists have been identified as Furqan Rashin Lone and Liyaqat Ahmad Lone and both of them are said to be associated with terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces during the early morning hours of Tuesday after Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area. 

The encounter comes on close heels of the arrest of three suspected terrorists from Karnah area of Kupwara district on Sunday. The arrested suspects were trying to infiltrate the border after which they were caught and handed over to the police for further interrogation.

On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had killed a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist who was invilved in carrying out a number of terror attacks on security forces, in Anantnag district.
