New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): Talking about upcoming assembly polls in Delhi, Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday said that it is a 3-cornered contest in the national capital and expressed confidence that Congress will perform better this time. She said that Congress is doing campaigning and the declared candidates are doing their work. However, on being asked about giving support to any party, Dikshit said that Congress would not support 'communal party' like BJP even as she avoided question on support to AAP. Agriculture fair begins in Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore, Jan 08 (ANI): A three-day-long agriculture fair showcasing latest farming techniques has begun in state agricultural university of Tamil Nadu. There are more than 300 stalls at the fair, displaying new crop varieties and latest innovations by agricultural research centers from across the four southern India states. The main attraction of the fair is a variety of guava fruit called the Thailand guava -- which weighs up to 60 grams and has less seeds -- developed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The exhibition is aimed at introducing farmers to technologies like high density planting, precision farming, green house cultivation, farm mechanism, use of solar energy and integrated farm management for increased crop productivity. Politicos demand action against Yakub Qureshi for announcing Rs 51 crore reward to Paris attackers

New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): Political leaders on Thursday demanded action against BSP leader Yakub Qureshi who yet again spewed outrageous comments by lauding the barbaric attack in Paris and has announced Rs 51 crore reward for the attackers. He said that anyone who disrespected the Prophet Mohammed deserved death and he was ready to give the Rs 51 crore to the attackers, if they were to ask for it. BJP leader Sambit Patra said that such statements are a disgrace to the nation and also demanded that the BSP expel the leader at the earliest. Shahnawaz Hussain also demanded action against Qureshi. NDMC to distribute LED bulbs to its employees on Holi

New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): The New Delhi Municipal Council which faced criticism for spending over Rs.90 lakh to give away sweets to its employees on Holi last year has decided to distribute LED bulbs this year keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for conservation of energy. NDMC chairperson Jalaj Shrivastava said that the council is also planning to halve the domestic energy consumption by the next financial year.
