New Delhi, Oct 10 (ANI): Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from international cricket after playing his 200th Test in the home series against the West Indies next month. 40-year-old Tendulkar, who has not been in the best of form in recent times, has informed the BCCI about his decision to quit Test cricket after a glorious career spanning 24 years. Tendulkar contacted the BCCI President N Srinivasan on Thursday and requested the board to release a few statement sent by him to the Media on his behalf.

Hyderabad, Oct 6 (ANI): After the Disciplinary Committee of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) suggested lifetime ban on ace woman shuttler Jwala Gutta, her coach SM Arif has defended the player and said that she has simply followed her sponsors' instructions. Arif further said that he would advice her not to apologize; instead go to the court of law as the allegations put by them are baseless.

Lucknow/Bangalore/Hyderabad, Oct 06 (ANI): The Disciplinary Committee of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) suggested lifetime ban on ace woman shuttlecock player Jwala Gutta. The BAI cited a ruckus during the recent Indian Badminton league match as the reason for this proposed ban. Recently during a match in the Indian Badminton League (IBL) on August 25, Gutta had delayed the match which was being witnessed live across the world. However, President of BAI, Akhilesh Das Gupta said that if Gutta gave an unconditional apology the matter could be reconsidered, but at the moment the ban had only been recommended and not enforced.

Kolkata, Oct 02 (ANI): India's explosive batsman, Yuvraj Singh, who had recovered from Cancer, welcomed his comeback into the 15-member national squad against team Australia after a lull of about 10 months at the international cricket pitch. Yuvraj had made it into the national team on September 30 for the lone T20 match and first three one-dayers against Australia, starting on October 10 at home. Speaking on his comeback, Yuvraj said that he proved his worth at the List A matches and a return would certainly add a difference to his life.

New Delhi, Sept 30 (ANI): Stylish left handed batsman, Yuvraj Singh is all set to return to the 15-member Indian squad for the only T20 and the first three ODIs of the seven-match series against Australia to begin in a few weeks. However, there was no place for seniors Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh in the squad to be lead by MS Dhoni. Yuvraj last played an ODI for India on January 27 against England at Dharamsala and was dropped subsequently due to poor form and lack of fitness.

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): The BCCI in its Special General Meeting in Chennai slapped the former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi with a lifetime ban, barring him from holding any position in Indian cricket. Modi was found guilty on eight charges of "indiscipline and misconduct". Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had dismissed Modi's plea for stay on the BCCI meet. A bench headed by Justice G S Singhvi, before whom the matter was mentioned for urgent hearing, dismissed Modi's plea. Modi had approached the apex court challenging the order of the Delhi high court which had on Tuesday allowed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to hold the meeting.
