Spiritual and physical training brings about a change among inmates at Manipur's Sajiwa jail

Manipur, Jan 05 (ANI): The Central Jail, situated at Sajiwa in East Imphal, houses over 650 inmates, including a large number of former militants. It is the northeast's first jail to introduce meditation, sports, gym facility and other co-curricular activities for the inmates. It recently upgraded the fitness center in its premises with help from an Imphal-based gym. RK Vishwajit Singh, the owner of 'Animal gym' has been helping the inmates by providing gym equipment at a cheap rate. The inmates, who have now understood the value of leading a healthy life, are happy with the constructive activities.

Exercise makes you choose low fat food over fatty ones

New Delhi, Jan 5 (ANI): Scientists have discovered that exercising could make low-calorie food appear more appetizing. Scans taken after volunteers jogged for an hour showed that the brain's "reward centres" lit up when they were shown images of low-fat diet foods. But the same brain regions showed reduced activity when volunteers looked at pictures of calorie-dense fatty food.

Surat exhibits diamond studded replica of Mahatma Gandhi's spinning wheel

Hundreds run in Kolkata marathon to spread cancer awareness

Kolkata, Jan 05 (ANI): The young and the old gathered in hundreds in Kolkata on Sunday to take part in a marathon to create awareness about the cancer disease and support the underprivileged cancer patients. ISRO launches GSLV-D5 satellite successfully

Sriharikota, Jan 5 (ANI): The ISRO on Sunday successfully launched the Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle or GSLV-D5 from the space port at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The advanced GSAT-14 communications satellite that GSLV-D5 is carrying has also been separated from the rocket. If launched into orbit successfully, the Rs. 350-crore mission will mark India's entry into the multi-billion dollar commercial launcher market on a fully indigenous large rocket.

New Delhi, Jan 5 (ANI): Commenting on yet another heinous crime of a minor girl rape case in Bangalore, NCW Chairman Mamta Sharma said that there are laws made but are useless until they are implemented. Sharma said that the government needs to be more alert in such cases. She also said that this was disappointing that the case was lodged after the victim was admitted to hospital. The NCW chairman also said that the fund for women safety should be used for the purpose too.
