Kunal Ghosh says Mamata Banerjee biggest beneficiary in Saradha

Kolkata, Nov 25 (ANI): Suspended TMC MP Kunal Ghosh who has been arrested in the Saradha scam case accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of being the biggest beneficiary in the scam. Ghosh, before being produced before the Sessions Court on Monday, said that Mamata is a coward and added that she should be made to sit before him and questioned with regard to the Saradha scam. Ghosh is an accused in the multi-crore Saradha scam case and was arrested in November 2013 by Bidhannagar Police. He was taken into custody by CBI in July after it started probing the scam on a Supreme Court order.

SC slams ICC chairman N Srinivasan over IPL match fixing

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): The Supreme Court has slammed International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman N Srinivasan on Monday over corruption in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 competition. The Court asked the suspended BCCI president N Srinivasan how he could own an IPL team while remaining head of the cricket establishment in the country. Meanwhile, head of the probe committee, retired Justice Mukul Mudgal, however, refused to comment on the matter. In March, Srinivasan, regarded as the world's most powerful cricket administrator, was called on by the apex court to leave his post at the BCCI to ensure a fair investigation into the IPL Scam. Srinivasan stood down in June.

Leaders from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and Pakistan would meet in Kathmandu for two days for the plenary session from November 26 for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Police bomb disposal squad defuses bomb found from train

Kamrup, Nov 25 (ANI): A powerful bomb, weighing more than seven kg, was recovered from a train compartment in Assam's Kamrup (Rural) district on Monday, police said. Security personnel on duty in Up Lumding-Kamakhya Intercity Express spotted a plastic bag covered with a towel and wires sticking out in front of the compartment toilet near Kendukona Railway station under Rangiya sub-division. They immediately informed Kendukona station master and the train was halted there. The passengers were asked to disembark for checking the train thoroughly and senior police, civil and railway officials along with a dog squad of the Assam Police rushed to the spot and removed the bomb.
