Police constable arrested for throwing girl off roof

Badaun, Jan 18 (ANI): A police constable was arrested for allegedly throwing a 17 year old girl off the roof of a police station in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The girl, who is being treated at a hospital in Bareilly, has sustained serious injuries on her head and pelvic bone following the incident. The police have registered a case of charging attempt to murder against the accused and are waiting to record the girl's statement. The police had filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday, after the mother of the victim reportedly alleged that the accused constable had called her daughter, who had left home for tuition in the evening, to the police station where he is posted. McDonalds suspends Pune outlet staff member for allegedly throwing out a street kid

Pune, Jan 18 (ANI): Taking action for throwing out a street child from its restaurant in Pune, McDonalds suspended the staff member involved in the incident. The action comes after the Maharashtra government intervened in the matter. Promising an enquiry, McDonalds in a statement had said, "McDonalds India is investigating internally an issue that has been reported on an incident involving a street child. The concerned security personnel involved in the incident have been suspended pending completion of an enquiry." Further, the Pune outlet also faced anger by people. New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): The Election Commission of India has issued a notice against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal with relation to the allegations made by him on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi unit Chief Satish Upadhyay over power discoms. The Election Commission has asked Kejriwal to explain the matter by January 20, the same day the AAP chief is scheduled to file his nomination for upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
