Kerala gets its very own wax museum

Kochi, Dec 27 (ANI): Kochi city in Kerala got its own wax museum this week. Brainchild of artist Sunil Kandallor, the museum displays wax statues of celebrities from across the world. Some of the popular faces that can be seen at this museum include Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, anti-graft activist, Anna Hazare, Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, and many more. Speaking about the idea behind setting up a wax museum, Kandallor said that he wanted to offer something different to his hometown Kerala. Kandallor hopes to take this museum to the heights of internationally renowned museums like Madame Tussauds. A visitor said that Sunil's Celebrity International Wax Museum is very authentic and it had a promising future. Visitors to the newly opened museum seemed visibly awestruck as they posed for pictures with the statues of their favourite celebrities. Dec 27, 2014

West Bengal, Dec 27 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday visited Balapara and Changmari relief camps in the state and distributed warm clothes to Adivasis from violence hit Kokrajhar who have sought shelter there. Banerjee talked to the people and took stock of the facilities being provided to the dwellers. According to party sources, a total of 750 people are living in both camps and about 200 of them are children. Health department prepared to handle swine flu cases: JP NAdda

New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): Health Minister JP Nadda said on Saturday there was no need to panic after the death of a woman due to swine flu in New Delhi. Nadda said the hospitals were equipped to handle swine flu cases.The 51-year-old woman, who hailed from Ghaziabad city in Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to a local hospital after she complained of fever and cold. She was later tested positive for swine flu. Swine flu is caused by the H1N1 virus. H1N1 symptoms are similar to those produced by other influenza viruses - fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and respiratory problems.According to the Directorate of Health Services, six cases of swine flu have been reported in the national capital and its neighbouring region till now this month. Tapes broadcast by news website alleged that Dawood, accused of being involved in 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai, was running and expanding his business empire from his hideout. India has claimed that Pakistan continues to provide safe haven to suspected Dawood Ibrahim to further its proxy war but Pakistan denies it. Patna, Dec 27 (ANI): Four JD (U) MLAs have been disqualified for indulging in ‘anti-party activities’ on Saturday. The disqualified Bihar MLAs are Ajit Kumar who was elected from Kanti, Suresh Chanchal from Sakra, Poonam Devi from Deegha and Raju Kumar Singh from Sohebganj. The order was passed by Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary while citing anti-defection law.
