Varanasi, Aug 6 (ANI): In a tragic incident in Varanasi, a boat drowned into river Ganges on Tuesday. The District Magistrate (DM) Pranjal Yadav, informed that 40 people were on board in which 22 people have been rescued and 18 are still missing. The boat had headed from Varanasi_s Betawar village and sunk in Rohinia region. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Aug 6, 2014

New Delhi, Aug 6 (ANI): Congress leader Anand Sharma has said the ruling BJP government must explain why they are in a hurry to introduce the insurance amendment bill. The government was to table the Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill in the upper house of the Parliament on Monday (August 04) but it was removed from the business list after they failed to gain cooperation from the opposition in passing the bill. The proposal, which requires the approval of both houses of the Parliament, would bring foreign investment worth up to $2 billion into the sector within a year of its implementation. Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Sharma, who is also the deputy leader of opposition in the upper house, said the BJP government needs to be more patient regarding the controversial bill.
