Singapore appoints special envoy to Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (ANI): Singapore government appointed senior policy strategist, Gopinath Pillai, as its special envoy to Andhra Pradesh to speed up construction of new capital of the state. Presently, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana share Hyderabad as joint capital. The appointment was announced by Singapore Foreign Minister K Shanmugam and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during a news conference at the secretariat in capital Hyderabad on Thursday. The Singapore government will be presenting the first-phase of draft master plan of the new capital by June. Naidu said he was happy and content with the working style of Singapore government. New Delhi/Patna, Feb 26 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Thursday after Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu presented his maiden railway budget. Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas said that the overall budget is very good. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that expectation was that the fares would reduce but nothing such happened. Earlier in the day, while presenting his railway budget, Suresh Prabhu said the railway has to undergo a transformation over the next five years.
