Isle of Wight pub installs helipad to attract new customers

A couple who run a popular pub on the Isle of Wight have come up with a novel way of drumming up new customers – by installing their own helipad. Sam and Donna Shaw, who run The Fighting Cocks in Hale Common, created the helipad in a field close to their premises using a lawnmower in the hope that pilots flying over the island will land in for a tipple or two. Protesters break into Finnish-Russian nuclear site

Anti-nuclear protesters broke into a construction site for a nuclear reactor on 26 April, choosing the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster for their demonstration. Canada: Aerial footage captures burning railway bridge in Alberta

Canadian police have opened an investigation into the cause of a fire that destroyed a railway bridge near the Alberta town of Mayerthorpe on 26 April. CBC reported that the fire caused the Canadian National Railway wooden trestle bridge to collapse. Pipistrel Canada captured dramatic aerial footage showing the burning bridge, with billowing smoke that could be seen from miles around. Apr 27, 2016
