President calls for improving quality of technical education

New Delhi Nov 7 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee, met the directors of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in New Delhi on Thursday and also discussed various steps to improve the quality of technical education and faculty development in NITs to bring them at par with the top technical institutions of the world. Mukherjee is hosting a two- day Conference of Directors of National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Around 30 directors are participating in the conference which is being organised for the first time to upgrade the level of technical education in India. The delegates would also discuss steps for inter-linkages of NITs with the industry so that the best of the students’ capabilities can be harnessed and used by professionals as soon as they join the industry. Beijing, Nov 7 (ANI): Indian and Chinese soldiers began an anti-terrorism exercise "Hand-in-Hand" in Chinese province with their eyes firmly on enhancing mutual trust and boosting cooperation between two of the largest and well-equipped armed forces in the world.
