Sopore, Jan 07 (ANI): Four policemen were injured during a gun battle with militants in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday (January 07), said police. The injured have been shifted to a hospital in Srinagar. The police said it launched an anti-militancy operation in Chanakhan in Sopore, 55 kilometres from Srinagar, with the assistance of the Army following information about the presence of militants in the area. Diu/ New Delhi/Mumbai, Jan 07 (ANI): Home Affairs Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde defended the ruling Congress party in the Adarsh Housing Scam inquiry report, which indicted four former state chiefs and slammed political parties for politicising the issue. Earlier, Congress Vice- President Rahul Gandhi demanded that the Maharashtra government reconsider its decision of rejecting the Adarsh Housing Scam inquiry report. Shinde, who was on a tour to Diu on Monday said his party has always cooperated in investigating the scam.
