Fog will lessen down after few days: IMD

New Delhi, Jan 6 (ANI): Speaking on dense fog which has enveloped the country, IMD Director General LS Rathore on Monday said that areas like Haryana, Delhi, UP, MP are highly affected by fog these days but in the coming days fog will lessen down in daytime but it will be there during the nights. He also added that after 9th January, UP and MP will be affected by rainfall and after that the fog will engulf these areas again.

JD (U) leader Shoaib Iqbal threatens withdrawing support to AAP

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Taking up months old statement by AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, JD (U) MLA Shoaib Iqbal threatened AAP of withdrawing its support. He said that Vishwas' statement has hurt Muslim community and that he should apologize for it failing which JD (U) will take back its support from AAP. Vishwas had earlier allegedly joked about Muharram during one of his performances. Iqbal also said that he will take up the issue in the Delhi assembly on Monday.

Telugu actor Uday Kiran allegedly commits suicide

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Telugu actor Uday Kiran allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his flat at Srinagar colony, Punjagutta in Andhra Pradesh. The 33 year old actor took this extreme step on Sunday night. Kiran's wife Vishita and neighbours rushed him to Apollo hospital at Jubilee Hills where he was declared brought dead. Popular for his romantic roles in Telugu films, the actor made debut with Telugu film Chitram in 2000.

Kolkata taxi drivers protest over teenager killed after double gang rape

Kolkata, Jan 06 (ANI): Taxi drivers in Kolkata staged protest demanding action against the double gang-rape and murder of a 16-year-old. Irate taxi drivers shouted slogans against the state government as they marched in a procession to register their anger and anguish at the gruesome incident. The girl was allegedly gang-raped twice in October and after two months of torment by the families of the perpetrators, she was murdered, according to police. Meanwhile, another protest rally was staged in the city on Sunday, by supporters of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanding security to be enhanced for women.

Police kills two Maoists and injures five in Bihar

Jamui, Jan 06 (ANI): Police teams killed two Maoists and injured five during a counterfire operation in the Jamui district of Bihar. Superintendent of Police Jitender Rana said that police received information about the Maoists hideout, after which they launched a search operation by deploying various teams in different regions. Maoists are rapidly expanding their insurgency and could move from remote rural areas to cities.

AAP MLA Rakhi Birla's car attacked in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Rakhi Birla's car was attacked by an unidentified person at her Mongolpuri constituency in Delhi. Birla escaped unhurt.
