Indian Army giving adequate response on Pak ceasefire violations: Arun Jaitley

Murshidabad, Aug 24 (ANI): Talking about the continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan on Indian borders, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said that the army is giving adequate response to Pakistan. New Delhi, Aug 24 (ANI): Former Director General of Military Operations Lieutenant General (Retired) Vinod Bhatia said on Sunday that Pakistan's call for DGMO level talks with India may prove to be helpful for both the nations. Bhatia said that DGMO level talks will only be engaging in the agendas related to ceasefire violation on the international border of Kashmir, which are happening almost every day and causing disturbance in India. Oil Minister aims to expand PNG system to maximum for household by 2022

Mumbai, Aug 24 (ANI): Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said that the ministry is aiming to expand PNG (Piped Natural Gas) system to households to the maximum by 2022. He said that the ministry had a meeting over the same and is ready to start the works for the same in order to achieve the goal. He advocated about the system saying that the gas is more safe, economical and eco friendly. Pradhan said that the same would be tried to the maximum and is hopefully to cover 70 per cent of the household and the rest of the gap could be filled up by the LPG. He also said that post getting an idea about the possibility and feasibility, the ministry is to provide PNG to the crematoriums too.

Arun Jaitley labels GST as priority

Kolkata, Aug 24 (ANI): Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley labeled the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as a priority area for him during his visit to Kolkata. Speaking to the media after his meeting with the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state Finance Minister, Amit Mitra, Jaitley said that Central and State governments need to discuss many issues out of which GST is priority. The proposed GST will subsume indirect taxes like excise duty and service tax at the central level and VAT on the states' front, besides local levies.

Fire engulfs Jaipur's City Palace
