New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday said that all coal block allocations that were done under UPA regime are done in an illegal manner and it suffers from vice of arbitrariness. The court observed that there were no transparency and that no guidelines were followed in the allocation. A special bench headed by Chief Justice RM Lodha delivered the verdict on the two-year-old petitions that were based on Comptroller Auditor General’s (CAG) report, estimating a loss of Rs. 1.64 lakh crore caused due to the arbitrary allocations. Further, the apex court has announced the sate for taking a decision on re-allocation of mines as 1 September, 2014.
