Haryana Cabinet Ministers take oath after ML Khattar swears in as CM

Panchkula, Oct 26 (ANI): The ministers of Haryana Cabinet took oath on Sunday after ML Khattar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state. The Cabinet Ministers were sworn in by the Governor of Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki at Panchkula. The ministers who swore in as Cabinet ministers include Capt Abhimanyu, Ram Bilas Sharma, OP Dhankar, Anil Vij, Narveer Singh and Kavita Jain. The swearing in ceremony was attende by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, BJP President Amit Shah, Senior BJP leader LK Advani, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and many other political dignitaries.

'Run for Unity' should not be politicized: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday stated that the 'Run for Unity' campaign should not be seen through the prism of politics as it was an initiative meant for the betterment of the nation. A nationwide marathon will take place on October 31 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It will also be celebrated as the National Unity Day every year. New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Reactions flowed on Sunday on reports of Shiv Sena's Uttar Pradesh unit to felicitate Hindu families with 10 or more children. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that Shiv Sena always tries to divide the society on basis of religion. Assam, Oct 26 (ANI): Nine people have been killed and many injured in a bus accident at Nagaon in Assam. The mishap occurred at around 2 am on Sunday. The bus belonged to the Assam State Transport Corporation and was going from Lakhimpur district to Guwahati. A total of 33 people were reportedly on the bus. The injured have been taken to a hospital in Nagaon.

Landslide in Kashmir disrupts vehicular movement on national highway

Ramban, Oct 26 (ANI): Landslide in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir disrupted vehicular movement on the national highway. The big boulders and soil besides big pine trees rolled down on to the road in Batote areas that blocked vehicular traffic. Efforts are being made at war level to clear the road for at least one-way traffic by the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) men and machinery. Hundreds of vehicles, including passenger vehicles, were stranded. The inmates of nine other nearby houses have been alerted, as reportedly, the land breach was steadily widening.

ML Khattar to take oath as Haryana CM

Panchkula, Oct 26 (ANI): BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar will be taking oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana on Sunday. He will be sworn in as the Chief Minister by Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki at a grand ceremony in Panchkula. Preparations are currently underway for the oath taking ceremony in Panchkula's HUDA ground which will be reportedly attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other NDA leaders. Khattar won the recent assembly elections from the Karnal seat and prior to that he was the Chairman of BJP's Haryana Election Campaign Committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. He will be the first Chief Minister of Haryana belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Contesting the Haryana Assembly polls on its own for the first time, the BJP attained a majority by bagging 47 of the 90 assembly seats in the state.

Women in Manipur become self-reliant by making use of water reed

Manipur, Oct 26 (ANI): These women folk gather at the residence of Akhom Rasho Singh at Kongha Nangdeibam Leikai in Imphal East to get training in making products out of water reed, locally known as Kouna, an easily available aquatic weed. Rasho set up "Akhom Kouna Crafts" centre in 2003 and conducts training programmes across the state. It helps many unemployed people to become self-reliant. Water Reed products like bags, cushions, mats, boxes, baskets and several other decorative items have become a special attraction in Manipur and rest of the country. "Akhom Kouna Crafts" also export some products to the United States. The women workers are happy to be able to earn a decent living and are keen to impart training to other unemployed youth.
