New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Politicos on Saturday gave mixed reaction on former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who has said that the Congress morale is "pretty low" at the moment and that both party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi need to "speak more". Chidambaram also created a storm by saying that a person other than a member of the Gandhi family could become the president of the party someday.

India wants peace with China but not at cost of honour: Rajnath Singh

Noida, Oct 25 (ANI): Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India wants peace with China but not at the cost of its honour while referring to the border dispute. Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conveyed to China's President Xi Jinping that New Delhi wanted to resolve the border issues peacefully. Singh also asked Pakistan to stop shelling along the Kashmir border and create an environment for resumption of dialogue with New Delhi. Singh also played down media reports that suicide bombers could attack the state-run Air India aircrafts.

Villagers attack policemen in Birbhum

Birbhum/ Kolkata, Oct 25 (ANI): Villagers in Birbhum district of West Bengal attacked policemen and their vehicle on Friday, while state administration alleges that the attack was politically motivated. The assailants who attacked the police were armed with crude bombs, batons and other arms. The police reportedly fired few rounds in air to disperse the attacking mob. Regional Trinamool Congress Party leader Anubrata Mondal had earlier alleged that the state BJP workers were behind the attack on the police in Birbhum. However, denying his earlier statement, Mondal said it was wrong to point guns at anybody without any proof.

Nagas send out a message of peace and unity in capital

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): It was a jam-packed session at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru stadium when thousands of people from different Naga tribes living in the capital city came together for the 'NSUD Nite 2014'- the 51st edition of the annual night cum fresher's meet of the Naga Students Union, Delhi. The annual event aims at fostering unity among the Nagas; besides promoting their cultural legacy. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju addressed the event as the Chief Guest and called for unity among the northeastern people at large. Fierce gunbattle in Kashmir between security forces and militants

SIMI suspects sent to judicial remand on the basis of evidence: Mahender Reddy
