Kolkata remembers Mother Teresa on her 17th death anniversary

Kolkata, Sep 05 (ANI): Special prayer session was organised by missionaries of charity, the global order of nuns founded by Mother Teresa in Kolkata city on Friday to observe her 17th death anniversary. Mother Teresa was a Nobel Peace Prize-winning nun who died in 1997, and was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2003 at the Vatican. The ethnic Albanian Roman Catholic nun, who dedicated her life to poor, sick and dying in India, had made Kolkata city her home. The Superior General of Missionaries of Charity, Sister Prema said they remember her everyday and draw motivation to achieve what Mother Teresa had dreamed of. Heavy rains create havoc in Kashmir, rescue operations on

Udhampur, Sep 05 (ANI): Heavy rains inundated many villages in Jammu and Kashmir killing at least 65 people. Incessant rains for the past about 48 hours have resulted in mud slides, flash floods and rising of water in all rivers. The Indian Army has immediately moved in deploying rescue operations in floods affected regions of Naoshera, Rajouri, Thanamandi and Poonch district of the state. The Army has been able to rescue almost 108 civilians as search and rescue operations are in full swing.
