Minor rape case: Bangalore school re-opens

Bangalore, Oct 27 (ANI): The Bangalore School where the recent incident of sexual abuse of a three-year-old student took place re-opened on Monday. The Bangalore Police had arrested an individual in connection with the crime on Saturday. The two main evidence based on which the arrest was made are the pictures of the accused in CCTV footage and the statement of the victim A three-year-old LKG student was allegedly raped in the school last week. The girl was subjected to medical tests on Tuesday before being admitted to a private hospital.

Jeep collides with truck in Khandwa district, killing eight

Khandwa, Oct 27 (ANI): At least eight persons, including three women and two children, were killed when a jeep collided head on with a truck in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. In the head-on collision, eight others received serious injuries. The injured people were rushed to a nearest hospital. The passengers were going to visit Omkareshwar temple in Madhya Pradesh. The jeep carrying more than 15 members of a family collided head on with a truck near Roshiya Fata area on the Khandwa-Indore road, 80 km from Indore city.

Cyclone Nilofar heading towards Guajarat coast

Porbandar, Oct 27 (ANI): An official of Porbandar, Chetan Ganatra said that Cyclone Nilofar is heading towards Gujarat coast after cyclone Hudhud caused devastation in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Nilofar is expected to hit the land mass on October 28 morning with a wind speed of 90-100 kilometres per hour. Presently, it is located 1,270 kilometres west-southwest of Mumbai. The administration has issued high alert and urged the fishermen not to venture into the sea.

Authorities rope in residents to clean holy river Ganges in Allahabad

Allahabad/Patna, Oct 27 (ANI): State administration of Uttar Pradesh undertook a massive drive by including local residents to clean up holy River Ganges in Allahabad. Hundreds of officials and volunteers cleaned up the bank and swept the nearby roads. The government has also planned to stop direct discharge of drains into the river. BSF informs about roles and duties during fair in West Bengal

Siliguri, Oct 26 (ANI): Paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) displayed weapons and informed people about its role in country's security during a fair in West Bengal on Sunday (October 26). The BSF organised a day-long fair in Siliguri city where the troopers focused on creating awareness among hundreds of visitors. BSF Inspector General (IG), SK Sood, said that the paramilitary force was raised in 1965 and it would complete 50 years in 2015.
